Pre-Sales Consultant
Location: Home based, North America
Reporting to: Sales and Marketing Director
The Position:
A flexible role created due to Metron-Athene’s expansion in North America. The role consists of a mix of pre-sales, consulting and post-sales work.
Pre-Sales: Working with the sales team to sell Metron's athene® capacity management software. Key activities will include client presentations, demonstrations, pre-sales software implementation, skills transfer user training and technical management of software evaluations.
Post-Sales: bringing a proactive ethos to first line support and providing second line support and guidance on product usage to clients on a periodic basis.
Consulting: Delivery of revenue earning consulting and training. Writing and presentation webinars and technical papers at conferences.
In addition the role includes the opportunity to liaise with development and testing in the on-going enhancement of athene®. The position reports directly to VP Sales and Marketing.
The Applicant:
An experienced IT professional with a broad background in many aspects of large scale/data center IT systems management. Significant technical experience of system or capacity management for more than one major operating environment (z/OS, UNIX, Windows, VMware....) is essential. A good understanding and practical experience of performance and capacity management will be required. Experience of software products in this area will be a major advantage. Awareness or training and qualifications in ITIL® will be useful.
The Person:
Energetic and flexible as the job involves significant amounts of travel throughout the USA , often at short notice. The job suits an independent, self-motivated and responsible individual as when not at client sites the role is home based. A suitable home working environment is therefore a prerequisite. Some overseas travel is also likely, in particular to the UK for initial training. Excellent verbal and written English skills, interpersonal qualities, presentation skills and a high level of numeracy are prerequisites.
The Package:
Salary dependent on experience, typically in the region of $100K plus benefits (401(k), bonus/profit share, contribution to health care). 20 days annual leave per year.
