June 2011 - Metron and IIM are happy to announce a five year extension to their OEM agreement covering use of athene® in the Japanese market.

Metron and IIM are happy to announce a five year extension to their OEM agreement covering use of athene® in the Japanese market.  As part of the extension IIM and Metron plan to collaborate on bringing elements of their respective product ranges closer together to further extend the breadth of capacity management functionality offered by both companies around the world.  For 10+ years IIM has OEM’d elements of Metron’s market-leading athene® capacity management software, selling the solution as ES/1 NEO in Japan.

IIM has 800+ clients of ES/1 NEO including household names such as Bank of Tokyo, Panasonic, NTT and Toyota.

For Metron’s 300 clients across the world in territories such as the USA, UK and South Africa, a major appeal of athene® is its ability to integrate performance and capacity data from any source, including custom business data unique to each client.  The closer ties cover integration of IIM’s performance data capture and reporting modules tightly with athene® to strengthen athene®’s support of areas such as Java and SAP.  Other areas of integration between the software solutions offered by each company are already under discussion.

Ian Upton, Business Development Manager at Metron says ‘Our relationship with IIM sets the standard for what any collaborative partnership between two companies should be.  IIM has taken athene® to the Japanese market, adapted it to suit local needs and built a list of clients that reads like a ‘Who’s Who’ of Japanese business.  I look forward to the partnership developing over the next five years and integrating our product lines further to enhance the range of what we offer the capacity management market.’

Mitsuo Takeda, Director of MP Sales Division for IIM commented, ‘One of the reasons our long relationship with Metron has flourished is their willingness and ability to help us adapt athene® to meet the specific needs of the Japanese market enabling us to enhance our position as the leading provider of capacity management software and services in Japan.  We look forward to continuing our success in Japan and to developing our company and technological ties with Metron further under the new agreement.’
