athene® now uses Microsoft SQL Server as the database technology for the athene® Performance Database (PDB).

Communications Environment
For collecting data from Windows, UNIX or Linux systems athene® supports FTP, SSH (with which we use Secure FTP) or any protocol that works through the Windows redirector,e.g. NFS, SMB etc. Any communication protocols, which support file transfer, are suitable for delivery of z/OS data.


REQUIREMENTS FOR: athene® Virtual Appliance

The Virtual Appliance can be installed in the following environments, procedures for each environment:

VMware Player:
We recommend that you have a 2 GHz or faster processor with a minimum of 2GB RAM

VMware Workstation or Server:
We recommend that you have a 2 GHz or faster processor with a minimum of 2GB RAM

VMware ESX server as a guest:
We recommend a single CPU Guest with a minimum of 2 GB of RAM

Disk Space requirements:
15 GB when unzipped
