Paul has been building profitable private and publicly owned businesses at CEO level for over 40 years in a range of industries including chemical engineering, international photo processing and IT software. Paul has extensive experience of start-up, development and sale of businesses including IPO. His involvement with Metron started as an entrepreneur raising funds to back the Founders and original team in 1986. Paul was previously Chief Executive Officer and remains on the board as Chairman.
Chief Executive Officer
Andrew has been working in IT for 32 years, 30 of them in Capacity Management with Metron. After learning the business with a hardware manufacturer, Andrew performed a variety of sales and sales management roles in Metron, most recently as Chief Sales and Marketing Officer with direct responsibility for Metron-Athene, Inc in the USA, corporate marketing and overseeing all direct and partner sales activity worldwide. In April 2013 Andrew stepped up to Chief Executive Officer with the aim of driving the next phase of development and growth of the business as a whole.
Chief Contracts Officer
Paul is one of the founder members of Metron and has been involved in the IT industry for over 40 years. He began his career at ICL in 1969 and set up MicroScope, an IT software and services business. Paul managed Microscope though an IPO on the London Stock Exchange in 1987 and the subsequent sale of the business. He has had involvement over the years, at a senior level, in a number of Trade Associations and organizations, such as CMG. Paul is our Chief Contracts Officer with responsibility for commercial and contract dealings.
Chief Marketing Officer
Rich has been working in Capacity Management for 17 years, the last 10+ with Metron, holding ITIL v2 Manager and v3 Expert certification. He's worked in a variety of presales and postsales consulting roles within Metron, turning his attention in recent years to product and strategic marketing. Rich earned a BS in Mathematics from Juniata College (PA) and an MBA from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater and is responsible for Metron's global marketing efforts.
Chief Financial Officer
David started his career with McGraw-Hill and then set up the finance and administration departments for Supasnaps, which achieved a $100 million turnover within 6 years.
He has held financial controller positions within 3M and Calor Gas before establishing his own company of Chartered Certified Accountants 15 years ago.
Chief Business Development Officer
Ian has over 25 years sales and operational experience within a range of technology start-up companies and managed his career through a variety of sales roles within performance, capacity and database management Companies.
Ian joined Metron in 2002 and is now our SVP, UK Sales and Business Development with direct responsibility for the management of Metron’s UK sales team and worldwide partner sales network.
Chief Services Officer
Nick has over 2 decades of history in Systems Programming on mainframes, followed by over 15 years of capacity management experience. Nick was previously the National Capacity Management specialist for Capgemini and has also worked as Technical Support Manager for GE Corporate Computer Services European Data Center. Nick’s responsibilities cover Customer services, Consulting and internal information technology.
Chief Development Officer
David qualified with an MSc in Software Engineering from Sheffield University in 1993 and has worked within a Software Development environment ever since. Initially a developer, David went on to Team lead and then on to Project Management and Development Management, joining Metron in 2006. David is now Metron’s SVP for Development and finds the challenge of keeping abreast of technological advances continually motivating. He is currently embracing the world of Agile Development and continues to deliver higher value to Metron’s customers.

Metron joins the NetApp Alliance Partnership program
Metron today announced membership in the NetApp Alliance Partner Program. Metron is working together with NetApp to integrate performance and occupancy data from a NetApp storage environment into athene®’s enterprise-wide capacity management information system (CMIS). With this collaboration, customers will be able to resolve problems faster, optimize spend and plan future requirements.
Metron has joined the NetApp Partner Program as NetApp storage is recognized as a leader in the Enterprise Storage market. It’s become essential for Capacity Managers to view their NetApp storage data alongside all their other infrastructure and business data, enabling them to see all aspects of capacity that may affect a service. athene® for NetApp provides the ability to do just this, bringing not only Occupancy data, but also Performance data, at all levels in the NetApp configuration in to the athene® CMIS.
